Sedona, AZ --- After the first round of play in the Red Rocks Invitational, the Prairie Stars are tied for sixth and Maria Espinosa leads the way with a five-over round of 77. As a team, UIS shot 317 and is tied with British Columbia in the nine team field.

Espinosa's 77 put her in a tie for 15^th and Kayla Yn was the next best finisher for the Prairie Stars, carding a 79. Kayla Yn came in with a 79 and is tied for 22^nd and finished one stroke better than teammate Charlotte Ng, who carded an 80.

Both Jocelyn Matsen and Rebecca Ramirez came in with 80's and are tied for 33^rd.

South Dakota State leads the field after shooting a 295 and leads by one stroke over UC – Riverside. UIS is 22 strokes back of the leader but just 12 strokes of finishing inside the top-five.
