SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (7-6, 4-6) currently sit one game back of Lewis for the eighth and final spot in the GLVC tournament with five games remaining. Illinois Springfield will head to William Jewell on Friday for a 5:00 pm kick-off before closing the weekend with a 12:00 pm game at Rockhurst.

The Prairie Stars enter the weekend having split their last six games, splitting each of their three weekend series. Last weekend, UIS fell to Drury 2-0 before coming back for a 1-0 win over Missouri S&T.
William Jewell enters the match having lost five of their last six matches, picking up a 1-0 win over Southern Indiana to begin last weekend.
Rockhurst has suffered just one loss on the season, a 1-0 loss to #10 Truman State, who currently leads the GLVC. The Hawks have surrendered just five goals on the season but have only scored multiple goals in four of their ten GLVC contests.

Erin Egolf, have set a program record for wins in a season with seven. The previous record was five, which was set last season. UIS has also tied the mark for conference wins in a season with four, while they still have five games left to play.
UIS is aiming to make the GLVC conference tournament for the first time in program history.

Courtney Johnson has been steady all season long. The freshman from Pewaukee, Wisconsin has surrendered just 11 goals on the season, good for a 0.92 goals against average. That number ranks her seventh in the GLVC while she ranks eighth in save percentage (.817), and fourth in shutouts (4). She has surrendered multiple goals just three times all season.
GENERATING OFFENSE
UIS has put up 174 shots this season, ranking them fourth in the GLVC. Of those 174 shots, 88 have been on target, again, ranking fourth in the conference. Nine different players have scored this season for the Prairie Stars while 12 have recorded a point. This is opposed to last season when UIS had only five players score and six record a point.
ACROSS THE LEAGUE
The Prairie Stars are chasing both Lewis and Quincy for a final spot in the conference tournament, who play each other this weekend. The Flyers will host Quincy and Truman State this weekend, while Quincy will head to Wisconsin – Parkside after playing Lewis on Friday. UIS owns the tie-breaker with Quincy but not with Lewis
COMING UP NEXT
UIS will host Bellarmine next Friday, which will be senior day for the Prairie Stars. Following the game, UIS will travel to Southern Indiana for the penultimate game of the regular season before hosting McKendree on October 26
th for the final game of the regular season.
