Prairie Stars Turn Focus to Lewis and #21 Wisconsin – Parkside


SPRINGFIELD, IL --- UIS will turn its focus to Lewis University as they look to collect back-to-back wins for the first time since the beginning of the month. Coming off a dominating 106-92 victory over Saint Joseph's, the Prairie Stars will look to gain momentum heading into the final stretch of the season as they host two GLVC West opponents who are both in the top-four of the conference.

Coming off a two-game road series against UIndy and Saint Joseph's, the Prairie Stars had no lack of offense in the two games. A tough loss at the hands of UIndy, who sits atop the GLVC east, was followed by an impressive victory at Saint Joseph's where the Prairie Stars laid 106 points on the Pumas for the 16-point victory. With nine GLVC games remaining, the Prairie Stars have six at home as they look to make a push at a fifth straight conference tournament appearance.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
In the last road trip, seven different players reached double-figures in one of the two games. On the season, ten different players are averaging at least five points per game, led by Jamall Millison, with 14.2. Davi Austin is now averaging 11.3 points per game after an 18 point performance against Saint Joseph's.

DIALING LONG DISTANCE
The Prairie Stars are shooting 37.5 percent from three point range this season, good for 8th in the GLVC. They are tied for third with 156 made three's, led by Millsion, who has made 35 this season and is shooting 38 percent from deep. In the last five games, UIS has made 47 three's including three games in which they have made 11. Five times this season UIS has made double-digit three point attempts.

Last game, JJ Cravatta hit 4-of-5 from deep, tying the best single-game mark of the season.

Lewis
The Flyers come into the game winning four of their last six games and sitting in fourth place in the GLVC East. They went 2-1 on their last road trip, which included a loss to UW – Parkside, who the Prairie Stars play Saturday.

The Rangers come into this game ranked 21st in the nation, jumping into the top-25 for the first time all season. At 15-2 and 8-1 in the GLVC, the Rangers have won 11 in a row and are 6-1 on the raod this season, with their only road loss coming to #18 Ferris State University in November.

SERIES HISTORY
UIS is 3-10 all-time vs Lewis University and hold a 2-3 record at home in the series. Lewis has won the last seven meetings between the two schools including three of them in Springfield. UIS last won in 2011 with a 78-70 win at home. Last year, Lewis won 81-54 despite double-digit games from Austin, Millison, and Cravatta.

UIS is 3-8 against Wisconsin – Parkside and 2-2 at home. The Prairie Stars have lost the last four games in the series, with two being at home. In the last two match-ups, Wisconsin – Parkside was ranked 22nd and 12th in the nation. Last year, despite being ranked 12th, the Rangers won by just one point in Springfield, 83-82 in overtime. Millison had a team high 19 points but a 40 point performance from the Rangers shut down the upset.

UIS will head back on the road for their second to last road trip as they take on Maryville and UMSL on Thursday and Saturday.
