QUINCY, IL - Freshman
Kayla Yn (Arcadia, Calif.) leads the field after shooting a 77 on Sunday as the University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team is in first place at the Quincy Fall Classic at the Spring Lake Country Club.
Yn was the only Prairie Star to card a sub-80 round and is one stroke ahead of second place.
Senior
Becca Ramirez (Springfield, Ill.) and junior
Jocelyn Matsen (Springfield, Ill.) are also in the top-ten after on round of play. The duo fired rounds of 80 and 83, resepctively.
Sophomore
Taryn Pittman (Aledo, Texas) and freshman
Maria Espinosa (Ibague, Colombia) rounded out the UIS team efforts with rounds of 84 and 86.
The Prairie Stars own a 15-stroke lead over second place Quincy after shooting a 324 at the five-team tourney.
Freshmen
Charlotte Ng (Hong Kong) and
Sasha Glickfield (Marion, Ind.) competed as individuals at the tournament. Ng shot an 81 while Glickfield fired an 84.
The tournament wraps up on Monday.
