SPRINGFIELD, IL - Junior Kanye Sayon (Ghana) scored in the 96th minute to give the University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team a 2-1 victory against Millikin Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium.

The Prairie Stars trailed 1-0 after the visiting Big Blue got on the board in the 67th minute. The goal woke the UIS attack up and the Prairie Stars eventually found the equalizer when junior Dylan Stockman (Peoria, Ill.) received the ball on the left side and tucked it past the Millikin goalkeeper in the 86th minute.

In the extra period, it didn't take long for the hosts to find a second as Khalid Dhalla found Sayon for the game-winning goal.

The Prairie Stars open the regular season on the road next weekend in Des Moines, Iowa against South Dakota School of Mines.
