SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team picked up two victories to close out the UIS Invitational on Saturday at Washington Park. UIS downed Calumet College of Saint Joseph, 7-2, before shutting out Division II foe Kentucky Wesleyan, 9-0.

UIS sits at 5-8 on the season and has won more contests than in the last two seasons.

Freshman Jane Carter continued to be hot, dropping just one set on the day in doubles play against Calumet College.

As a team, the Prairie Stars surrendered just three sets against Kentucky Wesleyan to secure the victory.

Illinois Springfield heads out on the road to face Blackburn on Wednesday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m.
