SPRINGFIELD, IL - The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team has a busy week ahead as the Prairie Stars host Cumberland on Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Kentucky Weslyan on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.
Next week, UIS travels to for an exhibition against Indiana State on Wednesday, Dec. 16. That makes three games in six days for the Prairie Stars.

QUICK HITS- The Prairie Stars are 3-5 after dropping their opening GLVC games last weekend to no. 24 Bellarmine and Southern Indiana.

Zach Steinberg is the team's leading rebounder (4.6 rpg).
DIALING LONG DISTANCEThe Prairie Stars shot 46 percent from three point land in their win against Ohio Dominican two Saturdays ago. Five players made at least two threes led by junior Paxton Hamron with four. Senior
Jamall Millison, who led the GLVC in three pointers made last season, has made two threes in five out of seven games this season.
EXHIBITION SLATEThe Prairie Stars opened the 2015-16 season against a NCAA Division I opponent for the sixth straight season. UIS travels to Indiana State later in the season for an exhibition against the Sycamores. Friday's game with Cumberland counts as an exhibition for CU.
FRESHMAN STANDOUTSFreshmen
Bahari Amaya and
Zach Steinberg have had a huge impact for the Prairie Stars in their first eight collegiate games. Amaya is scoring 7.8 points per game while Steinberg leads the team in rebounding (4.6).
SPREADING THE WEALTHNine Prairie Stars are averaging at least 6.8 points per game this season led by senior
Jamall Millison (12.6). In the team's win against Ohio Dominican, five players scored in double figures led by Millison and junior
Paxton Harmon with 18 points each.
