Men's Basketball Welcomes Robert Morris Springfield to TRAC Tonight

SPRINGFIELD IL - The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team takes on Robert Morris Springfield tonight in the Prairie Stars' 2015-16 home opener. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. at The Recreation and Athletic Center.

UIS returns to TRAC after a weekend in Las Vegas. The Prairie Stars finished the weekend with a 1-1 record. UIS lost to Lake Superior State, 63-76 but was able to end the Vegas trip with a win against Findlay, 82-80. Senior Davi Austin (Newark, NJ.) finished the weekend as the top scorer with a total of 27 points. 

Last season the Prairie Stars defeated RMU by a score of 106-73. Then-junior JJ Cravatta (Streator, Ill.) and then-sophomore Mark Weems (Chicago, Ill.) each recored 16 points in the contest. Since 2009, UIS is 6-0 against the Eagles.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Prairie Stars are 8-0 in home openers and 27-10 against non-conference opponents ever since TRAC was built in 2008.

WE HAVE THEIR NUMBER
The Prairie Stars started playing Robert Morris in 2009. Since that year, UIS is 6-0. The Prairie Stars are averaging 89 points per game while only allowing 68 points on average to the Eagles. 

READY TO PLAY
Senior Davi Austin has started the 2015-16 season on fire. After leading UIS with 14 points against Illinois, he is 11-for17 from the floor with 25 points in the last two games. He tied a career-high of a16 points in the Prairie Stars 82-80 win against Findlay.

THE BALL DOESN'T LIE
Last season, the Prairie Stars shot 47 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three-point range in their 11 wins. In the losses? UIS converted just 38 percent of its shots and 33 percent of its threes.

COMING UP NEXT
UIS has six days off as its next game is against Lindenwood at home on Tuesday, Nov. 24. After Tuesday, the Prairie Stars begin a four-game road swing that includes the GLVC opener against Bellarmine.
