SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield takes to the road again to continue GLVC play at UW-Parkside on Thursday before travelling to Lewis on Saturday. Game times are set for 7:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., respectively.
CRASH THE GLASSUIS is ranked 24th in the nation in Defensive Rebounds per game and second in GLVC with 27.7 per contest.
STILL SEARCHINGUIS came up just short against Truman on Saturday and is still looking for its first conference victory. The Stars were 5-13 last season in the GLVC.
CONSISTENT-THREEIllinois Springfield has hit at least one three-pointer in 304 straight games dating back to Feb. 21, 2004 when the Prairie Stars went 0-for-9 from long range. UIS almost ended the record on Saturday when they were 0-for-3 in the first half against Truman.

COMING UP NEXTThe Prairie Stars return home for one game against McKendree on Monday, Jan. 19 for a 7:30 p.m. tip. UIS also closes out the season with the Bearcats on Thursday, Feb. 26. Last season, UIS split with McKendree with each team winning on its home floor. The victory for UIS propelled the team into the GLVC tournament.
SCOUTING UW-PARKSIDEParkside is currently on an eight-game winning streak and is off to a 4-0 start in the GLVC. It is the best start in program history. Three players are averaging double figures with Ziggy Riauka leading the way with 17.1 points per game. He also is the team's top rebounder (9.4 rpg), blocker (23) and ties for the team-best in assists (40). Despite a great record, UWP is ninth in the GLVC in scoring offense, but second in scoring defense. The team is also third in scoring margin at 14.7.
LAST TIME AGAINST UW-PARKSIDEThen-No. 25 UW-Parkside took both games against the Stars last season. UIS held a lead early in the game and eventually took a 32-32 score into halftime. UIS took a 47-36 lead out of the break, but UWP buckled down and took control of the game. Then-senior
Brandon Snowden led the team with 19 points. UWP hit 10 three-pointers compared to the Stars five and also went 17-for-22 from the line, while UIS took just five free throws.
SCOUTING LEWISThe Flyers dropped back-to-back contests at home against UMSL and Maryville last week and dropped out of the top 25. Lewis was picked second in the GLVC Preseason poll and began the season ranked No. 17 in DII. Prior to that, Lewis had a seven-game win streak going back to the beginning of December. The Flyers are shooting at a 48 percent clip from the floor and 37 percent from long range. Three players are averaging double figures led by Ryan Jackson's 15.4 ppg. The Flyers are second in the league in rebounding average, pulling down 36.8 boards per game led by Julian Lewis (6.5) and Max Strus (5.2). Capel Henshaw and David Niggins are threats from long range with 19 and 18 three-pointers, respectively.

Jamall Millison closed the game to just four at halftime, 43-39. UIS got as close as three in the second half, but Lewis kept control of the game to keep the win. Millison had a team-best 18 points, 15 coming in the first half, while
Mark Weems joined with 14 points.
