SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Junior Becca Ramirez (Springfield, Ill.) and senior Liz Kesinger (Carrollton, Ill.) fired scores of 79 and 83, respectively, on Sunday to finish in the top ten as the University of Illinois Springfield placed fifth at the Dan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate Invitational at the Piper Glen Golf Course.

Ramirez led the way for the Prairie Stars, tying for second place with a final score of 160 (81-79), earning All-Tournament team honors. The top five players were named to the All-Tournament team. Kesinger followed up her round one 87 with an 83 on Sunday to finish in ninth place.

UIS began the day in fourth place after shooting a 347 on Saturday, but dropped a spot with a 353 in the final round. Ohio Dominican took home the tournament title with a total score of 657 and Dominican's Jamie Ellison captured medalist honors with a 151 (75-76).

Freshmen Taryn Pittman (Aledo, Texas) and Jordan Neyens (Pleasant Hill, Iowa) rounded out the Prairie Stars' efforts with scores of 183 and 187, respectively.

The Prairie Stars are back in action in three weeks time for the UIS Island Getaway in Puerto Rico.
