Illinois Springfield defeated Lincoln 5-1 on Saturday evening. The Prairie Stars finished with a 15-3 shot advantage, including 12 shots on goal to Lincoln's two. 

Mallory Herber put UIS in front in the first half, scoring from Sophia Davila's assist at 15:55 for a 1-0 lead. Bridget Lyons added another goal at 25:18 after the Prairie Stars generated repeated chances, including four shots on goal in the half. 

UIS turned back Lincoln's second-half push by scoring three times after the visitors made it 2-1 in the 53rd minute. Rachel Riney, celebrating her senior day, scored from Riley Lloyd's assist at 58:48, Ellie Mejia added another goal at 63:07 and Kalli Drexler finished the scoring at 84:21. Gigi Yurevich saved a Lincoln shot less than a minute later, and Illinois Springfield closed out a 5-1 win to open its conference schedule. 

Drexler led the team with three shots, putting two on frame. Herber recorded two shots, both on goal. Yurevich played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save. Mejia and Lyons each recorded the first goals of their collegiate careers.

The five goals marked the most number of goals in a game for Illinois Springfield since they played Lincoln in 2024, when the score was 6-1.

Dahlianney Auguste, Emma Rosenthal, Rachel Riney, Abby Vaughn, and Gigi Yurevich were recognized in a post-game Senior Day ceremony.
