Official competition is here as the Prairie Stars begin the 2026 fall season. UIS volleyball and both soccer teams open their schedules, including men’s soccer at home against Alabama Huntsville. This week marks the start of another busy fall season across UIS Athletics. This week's events:

At Home

UIS men's soccer will open the week's home action on Thursday, Aug. 27, hosting Alabama Huntsville at 4:00 p.m. at Kiwanis Stadium. The match marks the official start of the 2026 season for the Prairie Stars.

Away

UIS volleyball will begin its season at the Ferris State Invitational in Big Rapids, Michigan, competing against Emporia State and Ferris State on Friday, Aug. 28, before facing MSU-Denver and Purdue Northwest on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Women’s soccer will play one final exhibition at Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday, Aug. 25, before officially opening the season Friday, Aug. 28, at Alabama Huntsville. The Prairie Stars will close out the week Sunday, Aug. 30, at Trevecca Nazarene In Nashville, Tenn.

Men’s soccer will also return to the road Sunday, Aug. 30, traveling to Western Illinois for a 4:00 p.m. match.
