The UIS women's golf team opened its spring season this week at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, completing three rounds of competition over three days.
As a team, the Prairie Stars finished 17th with a three-round total of 986. UIS opened the tournament with a 328, improved to a 323 in the second round, and closed with a 335 on the final day. Among Great Lakes Valley Conference teams in the field, Missouri–St. Louis finished 12th with a score of 905, while Drury placed 16th at 949.
UT Tyler won the team title with a total of 859, followed by St. Mary's (Texas) at 870 and Flagler at 879.
Elaine Grant led the Prairie Stars with a tie for ninth place, finishing with a three-round total of 216, three over par. Grant opened the tournament with a strong 70 in the first round and followed with two consistent rounds of 73Â to secure the top-10 finish.
Valentina Torrealba was next for UIS, tying for 37th with a total score of 227. She opened with a 75, improved to a 73 in the second round, and closed with a 79.
Ira Joshi competed as an individual and tied for 61st with a three-round score of 233. Joshi posted rounds of 78 and 76 through the first two days before finishing with a 79 in the final round.
Yi-Ting Hsieh placed 90th overall with a total score of 260, recording rounds of 86, 84, and 90.
Lia Rody finished 92nd with a 286, shooting rounds of 97, 94, and 95 across the three days.
Erin Ahmadfadzir rounded out the UIS competitors in 93rd place with a total of 288 after rounds of 102, 93, and 93.
