The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team was listed fifth in the East Division in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) preseason coaches' poll, as announced by the league office Friday.
The Prairie Stars earned four points in the preseason poll, which is voted on by the league's head coaches. Per GLVC bylaws, coaches are not permitted to vote for their own team.
Indianapolis was selected as the preseason favorite in the East Division after receiving four of five first-place votes, while Rockhurst earned five votes to top the West Division. Missouri–St. Louis and Drury followed closely behind in their respective divisions.
Indianapolis and Rockhurst enter the 2026 season as the preseason favorites in their respective divisions following strong 2025 campaigns that included GLVC division titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.
