12/14/2025 8:00:00 PM

UIS basketball is on the move this week, with both home and away action as the Prairie Stars continue the midseason stretch of non-conference play. Fans can follow along online or watch courtside at TRAC.

Tuesday, Dec. 16
5:00 p.m. – Women's Basketball at Parkside
UIS (4-6, 1-3 GLVC) heads north to Kenosha to take on the Parkside Rangers (4-5, 0-2 GLIAC). The Prairie Stars are coming off an 87-76 win over GLIAC opponent Roosevelt on Sunday afternoon. Parkside most recently dropped a 65-60 decision to Michigan Tech. UIS looks to defeat UWP, a former GLVC opponent, for the first time since 2014.

Wednesday, Dec. 17
6:00 p.m. – Men's Basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan
UIS (7-2, 4-0 GLVC) continues its strong start to the season with a road trip to Owensboro, Ky., to face Kentucky Wesleyan (6-4, 2-2 GMAC). The Prairie Stars defeated Maryville 81-68 at home in their last outing and will play their first game in 10 days against an in-region opponent. The Panthers picked up two conference wins last week over Ashland and Tiffin.

Thursday, Dec. 18
11:30 a.m. – Women's Basketball vs. Lake Superior State
The Prairie Stars host Lake Superior State (0-7, 0-2 GLIAC) at TRAC for Education Day. The Lakers are still seeking their first win of the season and most recently fell to No. 1 Grand Valley State and Davenport in GLIAC play. UIS looks to even the all-time series, which currently stands at 5-4 in favor of LSSU.

Saturday, Dec. 21
3:00 p.m. – Men's Basketball vs. Missouri Baptist
UIS welcomes Missouri Baptist (10-1, 5-1 HEART) from the Heart of America Conference to TRAC. The Spartans are coming off an 80-78 conference win at Benedictine and will play Bethel and Columbia College earlier in the week. UIS holds an 11-5 advantage in the all-time series against the NAIA opponent, whom the Prairie Stars have not faced since 2009. The game will count as an exhibition for Missouri Baptist.

Looking Ahead
There are no UIS athletic events next week as basketball takes a break for the holidays. The final UIS competition of 2025 will be a 1:00 p.m. men's basketball home game on New Year's Eve.
