The University of Illinois Springfield softball and baseball teams are gearing up for their 2026 seasons and will celebrate with the annual First Pitch Event on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026. The event will be held at the UIS Student Union Ballroom (2251 Richard Wright Dr, Springfield, IL 62703), starting with a happy hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6:00 p.m. It's the perfect opportunity to show your support and connect with fellow Prairie Stars fans ahead of what promises to be another exciting year of competition.

Attendees will have the chance to meet the athletes and coaches of UIS Baseball and Softball, get an exclusive inside look at the program, connect with standout players, hear about season goals, and enjoy food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. A special guest speaker will also be featured, with details to be announced closer to the event.

Registration for the event is available for individuals at $75, children 10 and under at $30, or you can reserve a table of eight for $600. Fans can also choose to sponsor an athlete for $50, helping support the teams directly.
