The UIS women's golf team holds the top spot midway through the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender at Far Oaks Golf Club, leading the field by five strokes when play was suspended in the second round Monday evening due to darkness.
The Prairie Stars posted a team score of 307 in the first round and had reached 187 strokes through 10-11 holes in Round Two before play was stopped. UIS sits at 494 strokes overall, ahead of Lewis (506) and host McKendree (513).
Individually,
Elaine Grant led UIS with a first-round 74 and is currently tied for third overall.
Yi-Ting Hsieh cared 76 and
Yi-Ting Hsieh added a round of 77, both players are tied for sixth midway through round two.
Lia Rody opened with an 80 to sit in a tie for 12th, while
Ira Joshi shot an 83 and is tied for 14th.
Fizreen Ahmadfadzir, competing as an individual, opened with an 83 and is tied for 39th.
The tournament will resume Tuesday morning in Caseyville, with UIS looking to secure its first team title of the year.
