UIS Baseball 8th in Regional Rankings

The University of Illinois Springfield Baseball Team is No. 8 in the Midwest Region according to the NCAA's latest rankings.

The Prairie Stars are currently 26-19 overall and 17-15 against GLVC opponents with four games remaining in the regular season. 

UIS is one of four GLVC teams in the region's top-nine. UIndy is the top GLVC team in second, Maryville is third, and Drury is sixth.

The Prairie Stars started their first season under Head Coach Trevor Forde 9-4 ahead of conference play. UIS won two-of-three against both Tusculum and Trevecca Nazarene, then won two-of-three at the MSSU Lion Classic in February. 

UIS baseball first advanced to the NCAA postseason in 2018, and has competed in the NCAA Regional in every chance since. Most recently, UIS hosted Maryville, Ashland, and Indianapolis as the No. 2 seed in 2023.
