UIS men's track and field opened their outdoor season competing in the 5,000m and 10,000m at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays. 

Noah McIntyre opened his season with a 14:47 5,000m. McIntyre was the runner-up in the GLVC Championship 5,000m last month, he also took third in the mile and was part of the GLVC Champion distance medley relay team. 

Chris Cherry finished 8th in his section of the 10,000m on Friday and was 56th overall at the meet. His time of 29 minutes and 43 seconds is the second best outdoor track 10,000m in program history. 

Next up for the Prairie Stars is the WashU Distance Carinval  in St. Louis, Mo. on March 31.
