UIS men's basketball fell to the Truman State Bulldogs by a final score of 87-74 in Kirksville, Mo. on Thursday.
The Prairie Stars took the lead early and held it for over ten minutes of the matchup. The Prairie Stars shot 54.2% from the field in the first half and entered halftime down by four.
Jordan Rice gave UIS a boost by making four of his five attempted three pointers in the first half.
Truman State outscored UIS 48-39 in the second half, making 12-of-24 field goals and 20-of-24 free throws. UIS trailed by four with just over five minutes remaining, but Truman State made a 9-2 run to claim the win.
Jordan Rice was the leading scorer for UIS with a career high 26 points. Rice was 10-15 from the field, leading the Prairie Stars to a 48.1% field goal percentage for the game.
Max Kunnert had an 18-point game, while also collecting five rebounds.
Michael Wright and
Jack Weber also scored in the double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
UIS is now 8-7 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars will travel to Quincy, Ill. on Saturday to take on the Quincy Hawks for the second time this season.
