Men's basketball fell to Rockhurst in a 62-60 decision in Kansas City on Saturday. The Rockhurst men's basketball team now has a win streak of five games, including its recent win over No. 5 ranked Missouri-St. Louis.
Neither team led by more than seven points at any point during the game. Each team scored 26 points in the paint, but UIS was outpaced by Rockhurst outside the three-point line. The Prairie Stars were 20-56 from the field, shooting below their season average field goal percentage.
Isaiah Esker was the leading scorer for UIS with 15 points, while another eight Prairie Stars had points on the board.
Jordan Rice had five assists, three defensive rebounds, and nearly tied the game in the final seconds before the buzzer. Sophomore
Jacob Hanna had a season high 13 rebounds and was just behind Rice with four assists.
UIS men's basketball is now 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the GLVC. The team will return to its home court on Jan. 12 to host conference opponent Southwest Baptist.
