The UIS men's basketball team defeated Southwest Baptist in overtime by a score of 63-61. It was their first win against Southwest Baptist in program history.
UIS led for over 35 minutes, or 78.7% of the game. The Bearcats never led by more than four points in the matchup, but caught up just in time to take the Prairie Stars to overtime.
Jack Weber had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Weber's eleventh rebound in the final seconds of overtime won the game for the Prairie Stars.
Max Kunnert had 13 points, one assist, and one steal. Six more Prairie Stars had points on the board, including
Evan Altman,
Jacob Hanna, and
Michael Wright.
The Prairie Stars made 34.8% of shots from the field, and scored 30 points in the paint. The UIS defense had four blocks and eight steals against the Bearcats.
UIS Improved their record to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the conference. They will face Drury at TRAC on Saturday at 3 p.m.
