UIS men's basketball was outshot by William Jewell on Thursday night in Liberty, Mo. The Prairie Stars fell by a final score of 73-63.
William Jewell made a commanding 10-point run early on to separate from the Prairie Stars. The Cardinals had a lead of 21 points with 10:31 remaining in the 2nd. The 40-point second-half effort by UISÂ left them just ten points short of their tenth win of the 2022-23 season.Â
Jack Weber led the Prairie Stars with 16 points. He was followed by
Evan Altman who had 14 points and shot .800 from the field. Weber also had seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Jordan Rice had 8 points, three assists, and made six of his six attempted free throws.Â
UIS is now 9-4 on the season and 3-2 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars will play Rockhurst on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo. in further pursuit of their tenth win.Â
