The Missouri-St. Louis Tritons defeated UIS by a 97-77 margin on Saturday.
UIS was held to eight points and a 30.8% shooting percentage in the first quarter against MIssouri-St.Louis. The Prairie Stars took off in pursuit of the Tritons in the second quarter, outscoring them 23-19. UMSL did not allow UIS to get closer than seven the rest of the way.
Ariyah Douglas scored 22 points and had seven rebounds, her most in a single game this season. Douglas was 7-15 from the field.
Liz Uhl collected 20 points and seven rebounds. Douglas and Uhl were each 100% from the free throw line, and combined for 15 free throws made.
The Tritons shot 64% from the field, and held UIS to a 46.4% overall shooting percentage. UMSL had a total of 29 rebounds and 10 steals. The Prairie Stars had an advantage at the free throw line, where they made 21-of-24 shots.
UIS falls to 2-17 overall and 2-9 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars will host Indianapolis and McKendree at TRAC next week.
