Men's basketball fell to Maryville on Thursday by a final score of 65-55.
Maryville outpaced UIS early and led for 95.6% of the matchup. The Prairie Stars were 10-25 from the field in the first half to enter halftime down by six.
UIS went on a run to tie the game 50-50 with just over four minutes remaining, but could not stop the hot-shooting Saints. The Prairie Stars shot just 38.9% from the field and 13% from 3-point range. While UIS struggled in 3-point shooting, Maryville sealed the deal with a set of back-to-back 3-pointers.
Jack Weber collected 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Jordan Rice had 13 points, three steals, and three assists. The duo made six field goals apiece.
Isaiah Esker had two blocks, bringing his season total to six. Esker also contributed five points and five rebounds.
UIS is now 6-4 in the GLVC and 12-6 overall. The Prairie Stars look to bounce back on Saturday against No. 16 Missouri-St. Louis.
