UIS women's basketball fell to Missouri S&T at home on Saturday by a final score of 77-65.
Ariyah Douglas hit a 3-pointer with just seconds remaining in the first half to tie the game 32-32. The Miners scored on a layup, then
Saharra Murphy made a layup herself to send the Prairie Stars into halftime tied 34-34. Missouri S&T outscored UIS 20-12 in the third quarter, and were able to keep the Prairie Stars out of contention for the remainder of the game.
UIS made 24 of 61 attempted field goals and scored 34 points in the paint.
Liz Uhl made five-of-eight from the field, and had three rebounds and two steals.
Brianna Zajicek and
Saharra Murphy scored 14 and 12 points respectively. Murphy collected seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
UIS is now 1-8 in GLVC competition. The Prairie Stars will travel to St. Louis this week to face Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis.
