The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) kicked off its academic awards week this morning by announcing its team academic all-conference honorees. The University of Illinois Springfield saw 13 out of a possible 15 programs earn the award.

The GLVC Team Academic All-Conference award goes to every sports program that achieved a 3.30 team GPA or higher for the past school year.

Leading the way for the Prairie Stars was the women's tennis program which had a team GPA of 3.89. That was the second-highest mark among all of the winners, and the best mark in the GLVC among women's tennis programs.

For the fourth year in a row, every women's program earned the award. The volleyball program had the second-highest mark at UIS with a 3.66, and women's soccer finished with a 3.52. Women's cross country, women's track and field, softball, women's basketball, and women's golf all finished between a 3.30 and 3.50.

Men's golf was the leading program on the male side as it achieved a team GPA of 3.60. Men's soccer, men's tennis, men's cross country, and men's track and field also earned the award.

The UIS men's tennis program has now earned this award for a school-best 12 straight seasons, and it has a UIS-record 12 all-time honors in 13 years. Women's tennis is second by winning the award 11 times all-time. Women's Soccer won the honor for the tenth straight year, one more than softball. Volleyball also entered double-digit all-time accolades this year.
