University of Illinois Springfield track runner
Noah McIntyre competed at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet on Thursday. McIntyre finished 23rd in his 1,500m run.
Â
McIntyre finished with a time of 4:00.31. He opened the race strong, running in second for the first lap and being in the top-five midway through the race. He fell back though in the third lap and couldn't catch up in the final 400m.
Â
McIntyre is the second UIS men's runner in program history to earn a starting spot at the national outdoor event. He won the GLVC Championship this year in the 1,500m, and set a school and conference record at that meet with a time of 3:45.46.
