UIS men's track and field will compete at the Kip and Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays this week, looking to continue building momentum during the outdoor season. Field events are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and noon on Friday, while running events will start at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Friday.
In the distance races,
Charlie Borlin, Dominic Cantarini,
Isaac Cortes,
Ryan Kries,
Garrett Wagoner, and
Owen Whelan are entered in the 5,000-meter run, providing depth and experience for the Prairie Stars. The 1,500 meters will feature
Chase Cooley,
River Derby,
Joey Karlesky,
Lucas Naugle, and
Matt Padilla, giving UIS a strong middle-distance lineup.
In the shorter middle-distance events, Cooley and Derby are both scheduled to compete in the 800 meters, while
Brock Loftus will run the 400-meter dash.
