The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its men's basketball all-conference teams this afternoon. University of Illinois Springfield's Chase Robinson was named a second-team all-GLVC pick, and Evan Altman and Jordan Rice were included among the conference's All-Freshmen team.
 
Robinson earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He led UIS this past season with 13.4 points a game, which ranked 19th in the GLVC. He was also sixth with 1.59 steals a game. Robinson led the team with 388 points and 46 steals, and was second with 142 rebounds and 50 assists. His 33 three-pointers were the third-most on the squad, and he was also third with 12 blocks. Robinson's steal total was the tenth-most in program history for a season.
 
In three seasons, Robinson has recorded 1,164 points, 353 rebounds, 153 assists, and 115 steals. He is third in UIS history for career points, and has the eighth-highest scoring average. He is ninth in career rebounds and third in career steals.
 
Altman was a regular in the UIS starting lineup late in the season. He averaged 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds on the year. He was the top free-throw shooter by making 73.5 percent of his shots, and shot 44.7 percent from the field. He made 15 three-pointers, 16 assists, three blocks, and nine steals.
 
Rice started 21 of the team's 29 contests, and he led the squad with 58 assists. He had a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio, and was the team leader in assists for 10 contests. Rice averaged 5.8 points a game, and also collected 30 three-points, 37 rebounds, 26 steals, and one block.
 
Robinson is the first Prairie Star to be named all-conference since 2020. Altman and Rice and the third and fourth members of the program to earn All-Freshmen honors since 2020.
 
Senior Jesus Castillo was also named the 2021-22 James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Sport Honoree for UIS men's basketball.
