The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team swept Saginaw Valley State after a walk-off win on Monday at the UIS Baseball Field. The Prairie Stars defeated the Cardinals by a 6-5 margin.

Saginaw Valley scored twice in the top of the ninth to force extra innings. In the 10th,
Cameron Zunkel allowed just a two-out hit, which the Cardinals were not able to convert into a run. In the bottom half of the inning,
Kal Youngquist led off the inning with a double. Two batters later,
Austin Alderman singled to score pinch runner
Noah Crowe with the game-winner.

Youngquist had three hits on the day, all of them doubles.
Asher Bradd also had three hits and two runs.
Zion Pettigrew had a pair of hits and two RBI. Five pitchers threw for the Prairie Stars and combined to strike out 10 batters, including three each for
Seth Masters,
Clarke Davenport, and
Matt Blaney.

UIS improves to 8-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars will host Parkside next weekend for a three-game series.
