The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team lost at the buzzer on Saturday on the final day of the regular season. The Prairie Stars fell 62-61 to Drury.
Â
UIS took a 61-60 lead with 11 seconds left on a jumper by
Jack Weber. Drury came down and missed a shot, but a Prairie Star play knocked it out of bounds with 2.1 seconds left. That gave the Panthers one more chance, and they made the most of it with a baseline jumper that fell through the net as the buzzer sounded.
Â
Chase Robinson led the Prairie Stars with 24 points and five rebounds.
Chris Hamil added 12 points, and Weber finished with nine points and five boards. Weber and
Evan Altman had three assists apiece, and Robinson had a team-high two steals.
Â
UIS ends the regular season with a 12-16 overall record, and a 7-13 conference mark.
