The University of Illinois Springfield track and field programs competed at the two Grand Valley State University Big Meets on Friday and Saturday. During the competitions, the Prairie Stars surpassed four NCAA provisional marks.

In Friday's action, three of those NCAA marks were met. On the women's side,
Taryn Christy recorded a time of 17:06.78 in the women's 5,000m. In the men's mile run,
Noah McIntyre had a time of 4:09.15. The final mark came in the men's 5,000m as
Blake Jones finished with a mark of 14:27.83.

Saturday's top highlight was the men's distance medley team, which consisted of
Chris Cherry,
Ryan Jones, McIntyre, and
Blake Jones. The Prairie Stars finished fifth in the race with a time of 9:48.37, which shattered the previous school record in the event.

UIS will conclude its indoor regular season on Friday at the Hilltop Classic in Jacksonville, Ill.
