The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team fell in a back-and-forth game with Truman State on Saturday in Kirksville, Mo. The Prairie Stars came up short by a 78-72 margin.

The game featured 10 ties and eight lead changes. The final tie came with 1:08 remaining in the game when
Chase Robinson hit two free throws to make it 72-72. Truman came back down and got open for a layup to retake the lead. UIS missed three three-point shots after that, allowing the Bulldogs to escape with the victory.

UIS shot 49.2 percent for the game, including 66.7 percent from inside the three-point arc. Truman shot 54.7 percent from the field, and also had 10 more free-throw attempts, which led to 10 extra points and was the difference between the two teams.

Chase Robinson led the Prairie Stars with 19 points, including seven-of-12 from the field.
Evan Altman and
Chris Hamil both finished with 13 points, and
Jordan Rice had 11.Â
Jack Weber paced the squad with five assists, and Rice had a team-high three steals.

UIS is now 10-14 on the season and 5-11 in conference play. The Prairie Stars return home on Thursday when Southwest Baptist comes to Springfield.
