The UIS Men's Basketball team improved its record to 8-1 with a win over Truman State on Saturday. The win was their fifth in a row and they currently stand among the top teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The half time score was 37-36. The Prairie Stars scored 41 points and held Truman State to 22 points in the second half.
Their 8-1 record bests their 2008-09 start, in which they were 7-2 in their first nine games. The Prairie Stars had a win percentage of .700 with their 21-9 record that year.
Michael Wright had a new season high of 26 points, shooting 9-13 from the field.
Max Kunnert was .500 in field goals and was the next highest scorer with 11 points.
The Prairie Stars are away for their next two contests and will return to TRAC on Dec. 30 for a non-conference game versus Webster University.
