The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team hit 10 home runs on Saturday at the UIS Baseball Field during a doubleheader sweep over William Jewell. The Prairie Stars won by scores of 21-3 and 15-8.

UIS started the scoring right off the bat with nine runs in the first inning of game one, including the first three homers by
Anthony Deconcilis,
Zion Pettigrew, and
Chris Monroe. Monroe would add another later in the game, and
Will Pratt and
Asher Bradd also went deep.

Pettigrew had four hits and six RBI in the first game. Bradd had two hits and five RBI, and Monroe added three hits, three RBI, and two runs.
Will Pratt had three RBI with his pinch-hit homer.
Tyler Acosta had four runs, and Deconcilis and
Bobby Barnard crossed home plate three times.

Seth Masters earned the win, going four innings and striking out six. He allowed five hits and three runs.

In game two, UIS trailed 4-0 after three innings, but scored 15 times over the next three. Monroe sparked the rally with a two-run single in the fourth, and
Brennan Brogni also drove in two in the inning. The Prairie Stars took the lead for good in the fifth with a two-run homer by Pettigrew.
Brandon Bannon, Monroe, and Bradd also added homers in the second game.

Monroe finished game two with five RBI, three hits, and three runs.
Kal Youngquist also had three hits and three runs. Brogni drove in three runs.
Clarke Davenport earned the win in relief.

UIS improves to 31-4 overall and 27-4 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars and Cardinals end their series tomorrow with a single game.
