The No. 6 University of Illinois Springfield baseball team clinched the 2021 GLVC Green Division Regular Season title on Sunday at the UIS Baseball Field in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars won with a 22-0 victory over William Jewell.

Kal Youngquist tied a school record with three home runs in a game, and UIS tied a team single-game record with eight total homers.
Zion Pettigrew had a pair of homers, and Bryaden Gorecki,
Chris Monroe, and
Bobby Barnard each had one. Monroe and Gorecki both had grand slams.

In all, UIS had 19 hits, including three each by
Brandon Bannon, Youngquist, and
Chris Mathieu. Youngquist also had team-highs with four runs and six RBI. Bannon and
Tyler Acosta each scored three times, and Gorecki, Pettigrew, and Monroe had four RBI apiece.

On the mound,
Blake Begner led the combined shutout by going the first four innings and allowing just one hit and striking out five. He was followed by
Ian Delleman,
Austin Glidden,
Eddie Wilkins, and
Kenny Brokop. In all, UIS gave up just three hits and walked one, and it struck out 11.

UIS improves to 32-4 overall and 28-4 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars end their regular season next weekend at home against Quincy.
