The University of Illinois Springfield track and field program competed in its first outdoor meet in over 700 days on Saturday in Decatur, Ill. The Prairie Stars had four individual winners at the Millikin Big Blue Alumni Invitational.

Ryan Jones took home first in the men's 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:09.44. Blake Jones won the men's 1,500m event with a mark of 3:49.83. In the men's 800m, Tyler Pasley had the fastest-time with a mark of 2:02.09. On the women's side, Gloria Esarco won the 1,500m race with a mark of 4:37.34.

Other top-three finishes on the women's side included Jade Anderson finishing second in the 3,000m steeplechase, Taryn Christy being runner-up in the 1,500m, Jordan Serrahn coming in third in the 3,000m steeplechase, and Savannah Brannan earning third in the 1,500m. On the men's side, Cortland Ross was second-place in the 1,5000m.

The UIS track and field program will be in action again next week at the Jim Vargo Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
