Women's Golf Finishes Third At GLVC Championships

The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf program finished third at this weekend's GLVC Championships. It was the fifth straight year that the Prairie Stars came in third at the conference meet.
 
UIS started off the tournament with a 330, which gave them a narrow third-place after 18 holes. It then increased their lead for that position after shooting 321 and 329 for the final two rounds. It finished with a 980, 23 shots ahead of fourth-place Lindenwood.
 
UIS had three players in the top-15 at the competition. Jennifer Queller led the team with an 11th-place showing. She shot a 242, and led the team with an 81 in the first round and 78 in round two. Paula Valdivia shot a 245 and finished in 13th. She tied Queller with a 78 during the second round. Ocean Pangan was tied for 14th, one shot behind Valdivia. She had an 82 in each of her three rounds.
 
Kathryn Gleason finished with a 251, which was fourth on the team. She led the Prairie Stars with an 80 during Sunday's final round. Madison DeRousse rounded out the UIS program with a 260.
