The No. 6 University of Illinois Springfield baseball team never trailed on Saturday as it won a pair of road games at Drury. The Prairie Stars swept the doubleheader by scores of 14-5 and 14-4.

UIS led after 14 of the 16 innings on the day, and was tied for the other two. Those two came in the first two innings of game one. The Prairie Stars then scored nine times over the next three innings to break the game open.

Kal Youngquist had two doubles, one homer, five RBI, and two runs in game one.
Zion Pettigrew finished a double shy of the cycle, and he scored four times.
Austin Alderman also had three hits and he drove in three.
Nick Mayerhofer and
Chris Mathieu each scored twice.

Colton Hale improved to 6-0 on the year after throwing five innings and allowing five hits and five runs.
Tyler Horvath,
Luke Fitton,
Ian Delleman, and
Nathan Righi did not allow a run in four innings of relief.

In game two, UIS scored four times in the first and five in the third, and never let Drury get within seven runs after that.

The Prairie Stars had eight extra-base hits, including two doubles by Mathieu, and homers by Mayerhofer, Youngquist, Alderman, and
Tyler Acosta. Acosta had a three RBI, two runs, and two hits. Youngquist and Alderman both had two runs and two RBI. Pettigrew and Mathieu also scored twice.

UIS improves to 23-3 on the season and 19-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars look to win the series over Drury on Sunday with a doubleheader against the Panthers.
