The No. 6 University of Illinois Springfield baseball program completed a four-game sweep over Drury on Sunday in Ozark, Mo. The Prairie Stars won both ends of a doubleheader by scores of 7-1 and 15-7.

UIS has now won 17 out of its last 18 games, and it has scored at least seven runs a game in all 17 of those victories. The Prairie Stars have won all seven four-game series that they have played this season.

In the first contest on Sunday, it was the team's pitching that kept UIS in the lead until the offense scored four times in the final three innings for a comfortable win.
Chad Saner threw five innings and allowed just two hits and one run. He struck out six and walked two.
Mason Coon finished the final two innings. He struck out five and gave up two hits.

Austin Alderman had a big game with a single, double, and homer at the plate. He scored twice and drove in four.
Zion Pettigrew,
Kal Youngquist, and
Chris Monroe all had two hits. Youngquist and
Tyler Acosta had two runs apiece.

In the series finale, a seven-run fourth-inning was the main difference in the game.
Brandon Bannon and
Asher Bradd both had four-hit contests. Bradd had three runs and three RBI, and Bannon had a pair of runs and RBI.
Chris Mathieu had two runs and two RBI, and
Nick Mayerhofer and
Bobby Barnard had two runs apiece.

UIS improves to 25-3 on the year and 21-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars remain in first place in the GLVC Green Division by 2 ½ games over Quincy. UIS will be back in action next week at Southwest Baptist.
