The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team improved each round in its first tournament of the spring. The Prairie Stars finished seventh overall at the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.

UIS opened the tournament on Monday with rounds of 319 and 312. It was even better during Tuesday's final round with a 308. The 939 total score placed it seventh out of 18 teams that were all within the region.

Jennifer Queller led UIS in each round, and had a top-10 individual showing. She was eighth with a three-round score of 225. Her tournament included going three-over throughout the final 36 holes. Queller ranked seventh in the field with a -1 scoring on par-five holes, and was seventh with eight birdies.

Paula Valdivia was the most consistent golfer on the team with rounds of 79, 79, and 78. Her total of 236 was 38th overall. She was fifth in the field with 36 pars.

Ocean Pangan was one shot behind Valdivia with a score of 237, and
Madison DeRousse was fourth on the team with a 241. Both of those players had a low round of 78.
Kathryn Gleason rounded out the team's lineup with a 261, including a low round of 85.
Brianna Harwell competed as an individual and shot a 272, with a low round of 86.

UIS will be in action again on April 2-3 at the Kentucky Wesleyan Panther Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.
