The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team couldn't keep Indianapolis off the boards on Saturday in Indianapolis, Ind., and it cost the Prairie Stars in a 63-59 loss to the Greyhounds.

Indianapolis outrebounded UIS by a 39-28 margin, and it had 19 offensive rebounds which led 24 second-chance points. That, and 11 extra made free throws, helped the Greyhounds prevail despite UIS holding them to 34.5 percent shooting from the field and 26.7 percent shooting from the three-point line.

UIS held Indianapolis to just five points in the final 10 minutes of the first half, and the Prairie Stars took advantage for a 29-24 halftime lead. A 9-0 run early in the second half by the Greyhounds flipped the leaderboard. The rest of the final half was close throughout, and the game was tied at 53 with three minutes left.

On its next two possessions, Indianapolis scored three points, with the first coming on a made basket and free throw, and the second on a three-pointer. Four made free throws after that sealed the Prairie Stars fate.

Chase Robinson had a team-high 19 points on a day in which he moved into the top-five on UIS's career scoring list. He was eight-of-14 from the field in the game.
Chris Hamil came off the bench and scored 14 points, including knocking down four three-pointers.
Jack Weber and
Jesus Castillo each had six rebounds. Robinson led the team with five assists and two steals, and Weber blocked three shots.

UIS falls to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars started a stretch of three straight non-conference games next Saturday against Hannibal-LaGrange.
