The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team could not slow down Parkside's offense on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo. The Prairie Stars fell to the Rangers by a 92-79 score.

Parkside jumped out to a 48-29 lead after 20 minutes of play. It made nearly 60 percent of its shots from the field that half, including 10-of-17 three-pointers. For the game, both teams shot 53 percent from the field, but Parkide made nine more three-pointers.

UIS got its offense going in the second half when it shots 58.8 percent from the field. Twelve of the team's 13 players who played scored in the game. Defensively, the team did force 17 turnovers.

Chase Robinson led the Prairie Stars' scoring with 14 points, and
James Kelley and
Yamani Shareef both finished with 11 points.
Jordan Rice had a team-high six assists,
Jacob Hanna blocked three shots, and
Chris Hamil had a team-best three steals.

UIS falls to 0-2 on the season. The Prairie Stars have their home opener on Thursday night against Eureka.
