The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team picked up its biggest win of the season on Tuesday night at TRAC. The Prairie Stars used their best defensive performance of the season for a 69-54 victory over Lewis.

UIS jumped out to a 13-0 lead as it didn't allow a point for the first six minutes of the game. Lewis missed its first seven shots, and
Matt Wendling hit three three-pointers for the Prairie Stars in that stretch. UIS led 37-23 at halftime, and then extended its lead early in the second half with an 8-2 run. The Prairie Stars slowed the game down after that point, and Lewis was never able to recover.

Lewis finished the game shooting 48 percent from the field, but it was just two-of-12 from three-point range. UIS hit 11-of-18 from behind the three-point line, and shot 60.5 percent from the field overall. The Prairie Stars allowed just three offensive rebounds, and sent Lewis to the free-throw line 10 times in the game.

UIS's starters scored 67 of the team's 69 points, and they shot 64.1 percent from the field.
Chase Robinson led the scoring with 21 points, followed by Wendling with 20. That duo was 11-of-15 from three-point range.
Keymonta Johnson finished with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Jack Weber added eight points and six rebounds, and
Trey Marble had a team-high six assists.

UIS improves to 4-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars will be home again on Thursday night at 6 p.m. against Lindenwood.
