The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team concluded its five-game homestand on Saturday afternoon at TRAC. The Prairie Stars lost to Indianapolis by a 66-56 margin.

UIS led with one minute left in the first half, but a late three-pointer gave Indianapolis a 27-25 halftime lead. The Prairie Stars never led again although the game was close for much of the remainder of the game.

The Greyhounds had a 41-37 lead after three quarters. In the fourth, Indianapolis finally got a little separation, leading 51-41 midway through the period, and they kept that 10-point lead for the final five minutes.

UIS's defense forced 24 turnovers in the game, and it outscored Indianapolis 20-8 in points off turnovers. The Greyhounds shot 47.7 percent though, and made 22-of-31 free throws. By comparison, the Prairie Stars shot 30.2 percent from the field, and made 13-of-21 shots from the free-throw line.

Lauren Ladowski led UIS with 17 points and three assists.
Malea Jackson and
Makenna Fee had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Fee also had a team-high seven rebounds.
Jasmine Sangster also had three assists and three steals, and Jackson also stole three balls in the contest.

UIS falls to 7-13 on the season and 2-10 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars are in action again on Thursday at Southwest Baptist.
