The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team could not pick up a home win on Thursday night at TRAC. The Prairie Stars fell to Bellarmine by a score of 77-67.

Neither team led by more than five points until the fourth quarter. The score was tied late in the third until Bellarmine scored the final four points of the period for a 46-42 lead.

The final quarter turned into a free-throw contest with 45 free throws between the two teams. Bellarmine made 23-of-25 in the period to pull away with the victory.

Bellarmine shot 45.1 percent from the field, compared to 29.3 percent for the Prairie Stars. UIS won the rebounding battle 40-31, and it made 31 total free throws in the game, compared to 28 for the Knights.

Malea Jackson had a team-high 17 points, and
Lauren Ladowski had 14. Those two players combined to make 18-of-22 from the free-throw line. Ladowski also led the team with seven rebounds and six assists.
Jasmine Sangster had 11 points and five steals, and
Makenna Fee had 11 points on five-of-six shooting from the field.

UIS is now 7-12 on the year and 2-9 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars end a five-game homestand on Saturday against Indianapolis.
