The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team saw its offense go cold in the second half of Saturday's game, which cost the team its home winning streak. The Prairie Stars fell to Rockhurst at TRAC by a 68-54 score.

UIS came out strong, shooting 50 percent in the first half. It led by as many as 16 points, and went into halftime with a 40-30 lead. In the second half, though, the Prairie Stars made just 20 percent from the field, including a two-of-18 from three-point range.

Daniel Soetan connected on a three-pointer with 12:01 remaining to give UIS a 50-47 lead. The Prairie Stars would go nearly seven minutes before another field goal, and Rockhurst went on a 12-0 run in that span to take the lead for good.

UIS finished the game shooting 33.9 percent from three-point range, compared to 40.6 percent for Rockhurst. The Hawks had a small edge in rebounds and turnover margin as well.

Daniel Soetan had team-highs with 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and three blocks.
Keymonta Johnson finished with 12 points and six rebounds.
Kaj Days had a team-high +6 plus/minus in the game, the only Prairie Stars player with a positive number.

UIS falls to 9-4 overall and 2-3 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars return to action next Thursday at Truman State.
