Women's Tennis Edged At Lewis By 4-3 Score

Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team was just edged on Wednesday by a 4-3 score at Lewis.
 
The doubles point proved crucial as the two teams split the singles matches. Maegan Flight and Steph Reynolds won the No. 3 doubles match by a 6-3 score, but dropped the No. 1 match 6-3 and the No. 2 contest by a 6-4 margin.
 
In singles, UIS won at the No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 positions. Flight won by scores of 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3. Nethra Thenappan captured the No. 5 match by scores of 6-4, 6-3. The No. 6 contest was won by Kaitlyn Thornhill by a 6-2, 6-2 margin. The closest that the Prairie Stars came to winning a fourth singles match was at No. 3 where UIS fell 6-4, 6-4.
 
 
The loss dropped the 48th-ranked Prairie Stars to 12-4 on the season. UIS will conclude its regular season on Saturday at Bellarmine.
