University of Illinois Springfield women's golfer
Paula Valdivia finished sixth in a 96-person field this week at the William Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio. The Prairie Stars finished tied for ninth in the tournament which included three top-12 programs in the nation.

Valdivia shots rounds of 74, 76, and 76 at the competition, and her total of 226 tied for sixth in the field. She recorded six birdies throughout the tournament, and had 33 pars throughout the 54 holes. Three of her birdies came on par-five holes, and she led the team with a 4.75 scoring average on par-fives.

Ocean Pangan and
Jennifer Queller also finished the top half of the field. Pangan broke 80 every round, and her total of 235 placed her 24th overall. Queller had a three-round score of 240, including a team-high 74 during the final round of the event.

Rounding out the UIS lineup were Bri Harwell, who shot a 261, and
Ashley Miller, who scored a 262.

As a team, the Prairie Stars tied for ninth with a 960. Their best round came on Tuesday with a 315. UIS had rounds of 320 and 325 on the first day of the competition.

UIS will be in action again next week at the NCAA Division II National Fall Preview in St. Albans, Mo.
